The birth of Yassir

In 2017 in Palo Alto, California, Noureddine Tayebi thought up a new way to help every Algerian get around in their everyday life. Thus emerged the idea for Yassir, the first ride-hailing service in Algeria, and the rest is history in the making.

The step up

In 2019 Yassir raised $13M from a Seed Round, which allowed them to launch e-commerce and delivery domains.

The boost

In 2021 Yassir has caught the eyes of the world's largest startup incubator: YCombinator. and picked up $30M, prestigious funding from the US, which was great support for their expansion plan.

The flight

In 2022, Yassir picked up $130M from the Series B funding, 5 times what it raised in its previous priced round with world class investors such as BOND and Y Combinator. In parallel, Yassir opened the tech hub in Europe and is looking for talents to join the tech hub and take part in this expansion.

The growth

During the years, Yassir has amassed more than 6m users and 130k partners throughout 45 cities in Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia, South Africa, Senegal, Canada and France. More than 450 workers globally from more than 15 nationalities.

The super app

Yassir now offers on-demand services such as ride-hailing and last-mile delivery. Building on this infrastructure, we are now introducing financial services to help our users pay, save and borrow digitally. Helping usher the continent into a digital economy era.
